The purpose is to introduce fundamental statistical concepts and techniques with a wide range of real-life practices and hands-on tutorials to students who want to engage in a data-centric career. Topics covered in this unit include basic statistical measures and graphics, data exploration techniques, fundamental probability and probability distributions, sampling distributions, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, correlation, group comparison, simple linear regression, and the Chi-Square test.
